THE RETURN OF RIBADU
Former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu just returned into the country from his 18 month self-exile in the United States of America.
Ribadu who arrived in Lagos aboard Delta Air’s flight DL1053 from Atlanta Georgia was received by his wife and 3 children.Others who welcome him were friends and security operatives who immediately surrounded him as soon as he emerged from the terminal building of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
When asked to comment on how he has fared overseas and his final return home. Ribadu said: “Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful. I am very happy, I feel great. I’m back home.”
Heavy security presence prevented him from speaking further as he was whisked into a black Mercedes Benz AMG Jeep.
It was recently speculated that Ribadu, the former chief of Nigeria’s anti-graft agency might have accepted an offer from President Goodluck Jonathan, to be his special adviser on anti-corruption, good governance and sundry matters.
Ribadu is expected to supervise a broad sector of anti-corruption agencies in Nigeria. The agencies include the EFCC; the ICPC, the Code of Conduct Bureau and others.
