Hair Solutions For All

Hair Solutions For AllThere are a number of hair solutions which can be used according to the hair loss problem that one is facing. People can also select a treatment according to their personal preference as for example, those who do not want to try the conventional ways of hair treatments can make use of the natural ingredients and methods to re-grow their hair. Likewise, those who want quick results can look for hair solutions which can give them quick results. However, before adhering to any treatment or products it is always important to know the underlying cause of hair loss.

Some people may lose their hair as a result of stress while others may suffer from this problem because of genetic issues. There are some who use excessive products which weakness their hair follicles and as a result they fall a prey to hair thinning. Treatments such as perm, coloring, dying etc. also effect the health of your hair. Those who straighten their hair much or make use of rollers may also lose their hair over time. Use of certain medicines can also sometimes lead to this problem.

In order to determine the cause of fall it is recommended to see a doctor as he is the right person to guide you with regard to the right hair solution suitable for your particular case. Here are some common hair solutions which prove to be useful for most people.

Firstly, one can try some natural treatments which are safe and have no side effects. These include messaging your scalp using oils or other natural ingredients. When you message your scalp the hair follicles are stimulated and as a result they facilitate hair growth. Also, it helps to stop hair fall as these oils have natural properties to perk up hair growth. Some useful oils for this purpose include olive oil and jojoba oil.

Another natural hair solution is to take on certain diets. Having lots of fresh vegetables and fruits is a great way to stop hair fall and re-grow your hair. Avoiding certain foods such as saturated fats in addition to dairy products also help in this process. Beans and peas are also good for hair growth.

There are certain conventional treatments such as taking medicines to recover such loss. These include drugs such as minoxidil and finasteride. Before you use them you should remember that they may have certain side effects so it is better to consult a physician before hand. One can also try surgical methods such as hair transplantation if he or she can afford.

Try to encourage change your hair and believe in yourself

“WHY I’M FLOATING A LIVE-IN MAKEUP SCHOOL”- BUNMI OYENIYI

Bunmi Oyeniyi, the founding Director of UNVEIL STUDIO has been dedicated to enhancing the beauty of her clients with her signature makeup. She has a B. Sc. In Estate Management from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife and is also trained and certified makeup artist from The London School of Make up, London. Bunmi has successfully grown her business from a humble beginning into a world acclaimed international standard makeup studio. And in just 5 years, her growth has been trajectory. In 2006, she added sales of wedding rings as a backward integration of the make up business. In 2007, she hosted a beauty pageant named “FACE OF UNVEIL”. In 2008, she launched her brush line called “THE UNVEIL PROFESSIONAL BRUSH”. The latest coming from her stable is The Unveil Institute (Beauty and Makeup). It’s a live-in school which is different from the other makeup school. It’s actually the first of its kind in this part of the world. The aim behind The Unveil Institute is to drive the imperative for a makeup artist to have multiple skills to meet the demands of the industry and increase their earnings potential. Thus, TUI is conceived to provide the highest standard of education in all aspect of beauty and make up. While TUI is a live-in institute, it additionally caters for day students to create a flexible plan for those staying in Lagos. Recently, City People Fashion Editor, BOLA AKINBOADE, met with this talented artist, and she opens up on why she is floating a live-in makeup school plus how she has sustained her business for years.

What led to the idea of you floating a makeup school?
I actually wanted to do something different from what everybody else was doing. It’s actually a live-in school. I have a mini school here (referring to her Makeup Studio, on Toyin Street, Ikeja). And over the years, we have been dealing with different questions like where can I stay? They keep asking me, please can I stay with you? Do you have a place for us? I know that Lagos market is saturated, but we don’t have enough makeup artists in Benin, Abuja, Kaduna and all those places. So I was like instead of us going all the way there, I was like why don’t we have students that will come here to be trained and become professionals. It’s like training Amateurs to become master stylists. So that’s how I came up with a live-in school, something different from what anybody has ever done.

How long did it take you to turn the idea into a reality?
It took me 2 years, and we have been on this for like 6 months. We have meetings everyday. We have to do our websites, we have the curriculum already, and we have the time table. We have everything intact. School resumes first week in February.

You mentioned earlier that it’s a first of its kind school. So what are those things that make the school very unique?
It’s a live-in school that caters for day student, entrepreneurial training, and vocational courses. Its home away from home. It’s the first of its kind. We have well trained staff already. The ambience is fantastic, the atmosphere is good. The rooms are been named after makeup colors. And its not just about makeup, we have interactive skills, girls will go out movies, we will have different activity nights and other activities

No doubt, the school is a massive project. So how did you bankroll it?
Like I would always say, I will always give thanks to God. And my rings have suffered a lot; I won’t lie to you, because you know how it works. Now the banking industries are a bit unsettled, if I’m permitted to use that word. So the banks are totally out of it. I have gotten helps from my friends. For me, I started bit by bit, because I didn’t want to rush. So it was bit by bit, from getting the house, to doing the fittings. Because for me, details, every little details count. So that’s the way I did it. We are still working on it, but we have done majority of the job. It’s almost over.

So how many numbers of students can the school accommodate?
We are looking at 50, both boarding and day student. For day students, because have different classes and we re not going to put them all in one class, we have about 4 classes, at each point, everybody is doing something. They are not under the same roof. For the hostel, we are looking at most 25, for the day students, we can accommodate more than 25, but we don’t want to jam pack the place. So we are looking between 40 and 50.

Last year, unveil clocked 5, but you didn’t celebrate it. A lot of people were expecting a celebration party since you have done so well for yourself just in 5 years. Why didn’t you celebrate?
We were actually going to launch with our new makeup line. And then the school thing came up again, so we were like okay, let not bite more than we can chew. There will always be time for celebration. For me, I don’t believe in people coming to eat for nothing, I believe in investing in something and launching it. So that’s why we didn’t celebrate it as people expected. But we did something small though, for every customer that came in, there was something.

You also started a catering outfit last year. How far did you go with that as little or nothing is heard about it presently
I must confess to you, I almost lost my money to the catering business (Laughs). I don’t know why, I can’t even remember who advised me, because I’m still looking for the person, I need to burn the person down. It’s quite lucrative for people that are not as busy as I am. That food business was an insane market, but I got to meet different people on another note. People couldn’t place me and the food business. So in most cases when I ‘m talking to them, they don’t even know I’m the one they are talking too on the phone. And you know how it is with food business, you need to be there. The catering outfit is still there, they have been able to stabilize right now, but I think I’m going to let go, and face my makeup business. This is me.

What about “Face of Unveil”, did you also let that go because it’s meant to be an annual event. And nothing has been heard since the first edition.
For me, for “Face of Unveil”, this part of the world, they like cheap labor and everybody knows. I was looking for an icon to represent my brand, that’s why I came up the “Face of Unveil”. She will always be Unveil baby, but we will also get her jobs from other multinational companies, like MTN and others. I realize that, everybody had an agency that they were always going to. But “Face of Unveil” was a huge success, everybody kept talking about it. But now, I want to give back to the society, and I need to correlate with what I do. That’s why I put a comma, because it’s not a full stop per se to “Face of Unveil” for now.

You also mentioned earlier that you will be launching your makeup line. How soon is that?
It’s actually in the making. It’s really nice. We have smackers, we have glazers, and we have the pencil, mascara, lip glosses. Foundation. But we are going to launch fully in 2011 by God’s grace.

You have trained over 200 makeup artists, some of them are doing so well in the industry now. How does that make you feel?
I feel fantastic because I’m like oh, that’s my product and she is doing pretty well. I feel very good, and I feel honored. And God has really given me the strength and the power to do that. We have empowered a lot of them and anytime I see them now, I bless God.

5 REASONS BIG BOYS AND BABES CAN’T DO WITHOUT BLACKBERRY

Saying that blackberry is the in-thing among upwardly mobile men and women would be stating the obvious. However, what has not ceased to amaze many is their latest addiction to this latest communication device and why most of them cannot do without it. Most who own this smart phone do not only use it as a luxury brand but also make use of the several facilities that makes communication much easier. There are many-advanced technological functions in it. The Blackberry phone is blessed with good features, made according to the need, and requirements of the people especially if you are in any specialized area of field. Today many people are using it just because of its extra ordinary interface. In this report, City People Fashion Editor, BOLA AKINBOADE presents 5 reasons big boys and babes can’t do without this new craze.

NETWORKING
Right now, what most people do is to create different groups on Blackberry depending on their line of business such as fashion, business, modeling, and others. And all they do is to invite their friends to the group. With that, it makes networking easy among all the group members. Apart from building friendship among the members, they also use the medium to market their products to group members. The group functions allow members to post status updates, share content between members, share files, pictures of their goods and services, media and appointments. And most of these groups have been able to build their relationships beyond the parameters of the phone as they now host each other to business dinner and luncheon amongst others to officialize their business relationship and meet one-on-one.

DATING
Blackberry also facilitates dating and helps builds strong relationship among lovers and spouses. It now plays a crucial role in the dating and marriage circle. And this is because of the Blackberry Instant messages that allow the lovers to chat as long as they want. Apart from chatting, you can also share pictures, voice notes, videos and this gives the partner the opportunity to share in any activities or incidence he/she might not be available physically. Couples and Lovers now rely on the phones to maintain personal relationships despite the modern realities of living apart, working hectic schedules, long working hours, heavy traffic and others. The Blackberry phone provide them with a “perpetual virtual” connection. It also now plays a role in arranged marriages options for finding a partner. The Blackberry makes it a little easier to facilitate an arranged marriage at a distance, because of the facilities embedded in it, the two partners can connect with each other via their BB pin and kick it off instantly by sharing pictures and have a constant communication. For working couples, it makes it easier for the husband and wife to connect with each other in the course of the day despite their busy day. And with the regular updates of the Blackberry Messenger, they can both have an idea of what is happening in each other’s world even without communicating.

UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION
One thing that gives the Blackberry phone an edge among other phones is its up-to-date information. Its gives you abreast of what is happening around your environment. The Blackberry gives you the opportunity to get instant mails and because of the email facility in it, and with this function; you will be able to send an e-mail to anybody anywhere in the world. Blackberry phones use the push technology, where all emails, calendar entries, documents or any other data directly to the phone via the internet. This is possible due to the Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES), responsible for the forwarding of all the aforementioned items. Apart from the instant mail, it also provides facilities for instant messages from your facebook, twitter, flickr, my space and other social network. This unique kind of operation is what caused the popularity of the Blackberries, and with this technology improving over time. Another way that people also share information on Blackberry is through “Broadcast Message” via the Blackberry Messenger. With this, minute-by –minute information are been shared among people on the same contact list.

EVENT PROMOTION
Blackberry is also another good medium to promote Events. This is done by constant broadcasting of the details of the event to all your contacts on the Blackberry Messenger. Also, people also promote their events by updating their status with a catchy caption for the event, while their profile picture can also be seen carrying the events invitation picture or logo too. Others also set up a group especially for the event, and by doing this, they promote the event among their group members and also encourage group members to pass the message to their friends and associate.

COST EFFECTIVENESS
All the handsets of this family are business oriented. It has only introduced internet with mobile phone. Earlier it was impossible to buy blackberry phones but in UK deals have made it possible. Blackberry is popular for its QWERTY keypad with practically unlimiteds entries and fields, GPRS, Instant Messaging and it is common in almost many of its handsets. Cheap blackberry phones are affordable for all class of people. These phones can be used as any of the phones like SIM free mobile phone , SIM Only mobile ,pay as you go phones and also as Contract mobile phone. All these deals are available through all the leading networking companies such as Globacom, MTN, Airtel and Etisalat.. All you have to do is to only pay a monthly subscription and you will enjoy all the features embedded in it. The Blackberry has made communication easier and cheaper, as it is cost effective. It is now the 2nd largest seller of mobile phones.

HOW NIGERIAN PASTORS MAKE MONEY ONLINE

In the ever-changing world of Information Technology, where practically everything is possible at the press of a button, the in-thing among many established Nigerian pastors is to embrace the internet facilities in the growth and propagation of their ministries. The internet is now the ideal place to conduct church activities as most of them are creating internet offshoots. Some years ago, churches had to part ways with huge sums of money to buy air time to televise their church activities on Radio/TV, or on some Christian cable channels. All that has now changed. With an investment in good websites with up-to-date facilities, churches can now broadcast services live online to global/mass audience. This new invention, apart from helping in contributing to the growth of these churches, has also helped in substantially raising the financial base of these churches, as worshippers/viewers can pay their offerings, tithes, e.t.c online and equally makes the churches easily accessible to anybody all over the world.
The sites are fully interactive, with a dedicated online pastor/administrator, live chat in an online “lobby”, Bible Study, one-on-one prayer through IM and communion (viewers use their own bread and wine from home), viewers can also click on a tab during the worship to accept Christ as their savior.
In the same vein, these churches beam their church services live, and this has been an integral part of church growth activities in recent times. This is because attending services online is the easiest, with little or no barrier for new converts to experience the church and decide if it’s a church they would want to be attending or not. Some churches have multiplied their regular attendance to several thousands of attendees in just a few months since they began broadcasting their services/activities live. It provides opportunity for people who would ordinarily miss church service. For instance, members who are ill can watch a video stream from their home computer. Business travelers or vacationing members can tune-in a live web cast when out of town. Seasonal members can stay current from their “other home.” Shut-ins can experience their church services live, without waiting for a CD or DVD to arrive. People stuck in their home because of bad weather can “virtually attend.”
Though these services come with a huge cost and a huge yearly maintenance fee, these men of God don’t mind. The cost of Web hosting and email, a domain name, and aesthetic quality level ranges from $2,000 to $7000 dollars. Some of the reasons given by some Pastors who have taken their ministries online include; it helps the church become a virile entity, many people think of church as a physical location. With live streaming and online facilities, a church ceases to be seen as just "that church down the road" because the messages are now accessible by anyone, anywhere. Secondly, it facilitates church growth; it gives the church a significant boost for dramatic growth. Thirdly, the church becomes a 24/7 ministry, using regular live streaming and uploading its previous messages which then becomes available as on-demand video, the ministry suddenly becomes an ever accessible by anyone, anywhere, anytime, and the messages will be ever alive at all times in every time zone. Fourthly, the church become a relevant church, in this age of fast food culture and impressive technological advancements when people are accessing music, videos and social networks on cell phones, wireless devices, internet cafes and hotspots, the church also needs to move closer to where people are and cater for them within their culture and lifestyle. Live streaming and on-demand video streaming allows people to access the content wherever they are and in a format they are comfortable with.
Some popular churches who have had heavy online presence in the last couple of months include Daystar Christian Centre, of Pastor Sam Adeyemi; Winner Chapel, of Bishop David Oyedepo; Christ Embassy, of Pastor Chris Oyakilome; Mountain of Fire Ministries, of Pastor D.K Olukoya; House on the Rock, of Pastor Paul Adefarasin and others. Their various website is a community on its own and has gained recognition all over the world. Apart from the live broadcast of service which is their major online service for now, the websites are also used for other evangelism functions. These include prayers and intercession, weekly or daily motivational talks, counseling, accessibility to major event details and others. Through the online medium, offering and tithing have been made easy as viewers can also pay online without even stepping into the church premises. These churches also use the websites to their books, CDs, tapes and other resource materials. With this laudable innovation in Christendom, there is no gainsaying the fact that Nigerian pastors have also joined the global village in evangelism and winning souls for Christ.
